Women leaders handling conflict is too often a “hot button” when we look at subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, gender bias. Words that get attached to women addressing conflict include: aggressive, emotional, too nice, cat-fight, pushover, etc. By using the tools of assertive thinking and behavior, collaboration, and a healthy conflict mindset, effective leading does not have to be seen through the lenses of male or female – it just needs to be viewed as effective.
